Last week we celebrated three birthdays in my family, beginning with my dad's 80th birthday.
I wanted to do something a little more personalized for him on this momentous day so I made him a quilt with his lifelong passion in mind.
I was so happy when the first thing he noticed as he was unwrapping his gift was the typewriters. Once I saw this material I knew that this quilt needed to be made. Dad owned a typewriter store for most of his working career. He was forced into retirement a little sooner than he had wanted due to our great world of technological advances.
Everyone deserves to have a piece of Mud Pie for a birthday dessert.
Next up was Bob's birthday. The boy's and I treated him to a night out, and I will be in so much trouble because I did not take a single picture of his birthday (oops!).
Obviously not the most ideal picture of Bob, but this is how I'm used to seeing him, hard at work back in his barn. Say Cheese! Happy Birthday Hubby!
Up next for our birthday week was a family outing at a local bowling alley. We were not only celebrating Dad's 80th birthday but it was also Mom's birthday.
The perfect ending to a birthday week is a pizza party
complete with a dual purpose birthday cake.
