A moment like this

A hobby is defined as "an activity or interest that is undertaken for pleasure or relaxation." I'm pretty sure this photo hobby of mine fits perfectly in this category, though sometimes it can feel more like an obsession. The pleasure of this new hobby is that I find myself more aware of my everyday surroundings and take time to enjoy moments like these.
After what seems like months of clouds, fog, and inversion (although I'm sure it's only been a couple weeks) I had to stop and enjoy this sunset on my way home from work today.

Chopped

After doing a ton of online research and picking the brains of local body shop friends, who kept telling him he had picked one of the most difficult body styles to chop, Bob did what he does best and just went for it and made up his own game plan. Sure he followed some rough guidelines in the beginning, but as things changed in midstream he had to do what made sense to him.

The starting point,
a donor car,
and a donor roof.
No turning back now,
the remains of the cut out roof.
Now it's time to start piecing things back together. A little bit here
and a little bit there
and soon you'll have something that looks similar to an actual roof after being chopped 3 1/2".
Are you wondering what the poor donor car looks like at this point, wonder no more.
We're going to call this car the Heinz '67 Bug. So far this car has various parts from a '61, '64, '67, '68 and '74 bug. The downside to a Heinz Bug is that all the remnant parts left over are now residing in the barn. Should we start a pool as to how many left over bug parts we will accumulate before this project is over? Bob's enjoying his hobby and if you're ever looking for him I'm sure you'll be able to find him in the barn/shop doing this.
The reward is knowing that he can accomplish this chopped top on his own.

There will be plenty more hurdles for him before this project is complete, but I'm personally amazed at what he has accomplished so far.

Two Year Old Shoot

I thought newborns were a lot of work but the terrible two's has got to be right there with them! She's a cute little busy body that has the freedom of staying to have her picture taken or roam around when she has had enough. I can't wait for the day when she wants to ham it up in front of the camera for me, but for now I'm that annoying aunt who always has this thing in front of her face telling her to smile. I was thrilled to see that I was able to pull off a few good shots. Here are some of my favorites.

Family Photo Shoot

When you live out of state and come home for the holiday break, your schedule gets a little chaotic trying to fit everything in. We had one afternoon that would work for everyone to take pictures of my friends family. A big snowstorm decided to move in that day and wreak havoc with our plans, but with a little patience and luck it quit snowing, the clouds broke and we were able to get some great shots. Part of Lesa's family lives here and part out of state, so the opportunity of having everyone together for pictures meant a lot to her. I'm glad we were able to pull it off and thanks to Brigette for being my right hand shooting partner. I decided to share a few of my favorites. I especially like the pictures on the bridge with the untouched snow, we couldn't have planned it better.
