Newest Resident

I'd like to welcome the newest addition to our pond. We've had our pond for about 4 years and every summer Bob kept hoping to find frogs. Well this summer this frog has magically appeared in our pond. We have no idea where it came from, but we're more than happy to welcome this new resident and hope that it decides to stay with us for a while. Bob & I weren't sure what to name this frog, the only thing we could come up with was Kermit, yes I know pretty creative! Yesterday I took pictures of Brigette's niece (isn't she adorable!) out by the pond and decided to let her name the frog for us. So here is a warm welcome to "DAISY." I hope the frog doesn't take offense to being called Daisy if it's a male.

On to another subject around this household is Ian's new vehicle. Bob agreed to co-sign on a loan with him. He has been working this summer and it is time to let him have some real life responsibility of a "car payment." Remember how exciting it was to have your own car that you made payments on at that age. Funny how it's the dreaded car payments that we have to make now! Here's a layout I created of his first time in his car. Now we're crossing our fingers this new vehicle doesn't add to his ticket collection!

Catching up

Father's Day
For Father's Day I hosted a barbecue at our house for my family. It's nice to get together with my family and just hang out outside. I hope you were able to celebrate the day with your families. Here's a picture of me with my wonderful dad.
And here's a picture of Bob with his boys, Chase & Ian.

Yosemite
Bob & I spent the last week in Yosemite National Park. It is beautiful! The only downside was the long drive and how many people had the same idea as us. Don't let the crowds discourage you, it is well worth it. Instead of trying to decide which pictures to post here on my blog, I decided to make a little video to share. You can find it here. But here is a photo to get you interested.

Layouts
On our way to Yosemite I was able to complete a couple more layouts from my class I'm taking from Tiffany Tillman. I'm loving this class, I just wish I could find a couple more days in my week dedicated to this hobby.

Relay for Life

It's that time of year again when I head up to Weber State to support my friend Brigette at "Relay for Life." This is the 5th year of team "Brigette Buds" and they were successful in raising $2,000. The only thing that could make this event better is if the weather would cooperate just once and not rain on us, LOL! Here's a layout I made of this year's event using a template from a class I'm currently taking from Tiffany Tillman. I just love her classes!

On another note, our neighbor a few doors down raises Alpaca's and had some new arrivals last week. Here's a picture of a newbie and a couple older Alpaca's. They are just such cute animals I couldn't resist snapping a few shots!

Memorial Weekend

I hope everyone was able to enjoy their Memorial Day weekend, while remembering loved ones and those that have served our Nation. It's always a quick refresher course of my genealogy when we visit the Plain City cemetery each year.

Now onto the project that has totally engulfed my husband. Usually when I'm working in the flower beds he'll feel the need (or guilt) to work on something in the yard too, but not this weekend. He is so determined to get this project finished and is just itching at the chance to put it in a parade.
Look at how bright and light it is in the paint booth, looks a little like an operating room, especially with all those pieces. I sure hope he remembers how to put it all back together, LOL! Here's another shot of the before

and here's the after

and another one showing the man at work

He gets so excited at each stage of this project and would have me out there constantly taking pictures. Too bad I don't have the same level of enthusiasm about bolts and nuts of a tractor as he does. I'm sure I'll be able to show more excitement once it resembles a real tractor!
