Picture Share

Life's been a little busy lately, so this is more of a picture share post.
Have I mentioned how much I'm loving my Macro lens.
Bob took this picture of Harley while my Macro lens was on. It's great for portraits too!
Can't resist posting a couple cute spring photos,
and this little guy celebrated his first birthday in March.
A first birthday has to have a cake smash.
A closer look at one that makes me laugh.

Spring = Newborn

Spring in our neighborhood always seems to bring us newborn farm animals. Last week while we were walking the dogs along the canal road we noticed a colt being born. By the time we crossed the fence, making sure the dogs did not follow us, and into the field the colt was laying in the pasture.
One of the few times a decided to leave my camera at home and had to rely on my iPhone to take pictures.
I grew up in the country, but never did see a colt right after birth trying to make it's first stand. It really is mesmerizing. After about an hour of failed attempts I decided to run home and get my camera, and of course it was in that short time frame that I missed it. Luckily, Bob was still there using the video on his phone.
It's amazing to me that they have that natural instinct so early to pop right up on those skinny long unstable legs.
The horse on the left is the grandma at 31 years old. I think that's pretty old for a horse!
This next picture is probably my favorite of baby and momma.
After waiting patiently for almost two hours, Harley's thankful that it's his turn for some attention as we finish our walk down the canal.

Macro Monday

I decided to make this a Macro Monday post. Last Friday I finally had the chance to experiment with my new macro lens. I love spring and the flowering trees.
I still have a lot to learn, but I know I'm going to love my macro lens!
