Photography Weekend

The internet and my hobby of photography have led me to meet some wonderful people. I would have never met these women if it hadn't been for the best online photography class of all time, SOAGL. Karen is an amazing woman and draws the same type of women into her classes. A group from another class had been planning a meet up in June in Utah. Since I happen to live in Utah and happen to know a few who were coming I was invited to join in.
It started in Logan, so everyone could see the World Headquarters of Jiggystick. Lisa's husband, Dean, was more than happy to show off his bees. The quest was to find the Queen.
Bob even got to join in the festivities and meet all these fabulous women. Originally I thought I would only be able to meet up with the group for a day or so, but with a little rearranging and a lot of driving back and forth, I met up with them off and on for the full five days that they were here.
While visiting downtown Salt Lake we happened to see my friends son, and being on a photography weekend I had to snap this cute shot of Beau.
Shot inspired by Jules and probably one of my favorites.
Seeing things that you normally wouldn't take pictures of is a great perk of being surrounded by seven like minded women.
See all of us in her glasses.
Another thing you might have to be careful of with seven like minded women is the possibility of them taking over your casual shoot of your girls soccer team at Temple Square.

Lisa, Nicole (Southern California), Aurora (Northern California)
If you are in Utah, you have to spend time hiking in the mountains. So we took a little hike to Stewart Falls at Sundance.
Marilou (Florida)
Jules (Oregon)
Kelley (Georgia)
Probably the best photography related experience of the weekend was going out to the Great Salt Lake at sunset.
The lighting was amazing!

Aurora is setting up to teach us a little bit about off camera flash.
Look at that amazing sunset in Nicole's lens.
Thank you to this couple that gave us a perfect scene.
The biggest THANK YOU goes to these amazing women that are close to my heart! Thanks for the chance to spend time with you.
