Sardine Canyon shows a mix of two seasons colliding.
The Alpine Loop had a mix of greens and yellows. It's been a little difficult finding just the right mix of color this year. Although it was not in peak color it is still a drive I would recommend to everyone.
Here's my dad trying out his new camera on the fall scenery. I am a little curious to see how his pictures turned out since he doesn't exactly know how to operate the new digital cameras!
My next attempt for some fall color was a hike in Big Cottonwood Canyon. The Sierra Trading Moose came along for the hike with my friend. "Moose" has been making different stops throughout the US and Tami signed up Utah as his next adventure stop.
At first we were greeted with ideal hiking conditions.
A little further up there was a little bit of snow and wet trails.
What a great mixture for a fall hike.
"Moose" decided he would like a snowball fight once we finally reached Dog Lake.
It was beautiful and a little chilly at our final destination. That is ice on the left side of the lake.
Time to start our 2.5 mile descent on the snow and ice covered trail.
That eventually turned to mud. And yes, I did get muddy enough that it put a stop to our plans of a Market Street salad for lunch!
But who really cares about the snow and mud when you get to enjoy the beautiful mountains that are so close by.
